Overview
The 911 Dispatch competition assesses students’ skills in emergency communication through three components: Emergency Call Intake, Live Judged Call, and a Critical 911 Dispatch Assessment. Participants must demonstrate quick thinking, memory retention, clear communication, and decision-making during high-pressure simulations. In the Emergency Call Intake, students transcribe critical details from a recorded emergency call. The Live Judged Call involves a real-time simulation with a mock caller where professionalism and composure are tested. The final assessment includes multiple formats—audio, mapping, typing, and quizzes—to evaluate comprehensive dispatcher competencies.
